It is our aim to ensure that every single product is not only safe, but also adheres to the exacting standards for quality that our patients and customers expect.

In addition to a robust QA process prior to Natural History products leaving our facility, from time to time we purchase products ‘off-the-shelf’ from retailers around the provinces to evaluate the quality and consistency of our products in market. Our aim is to ensure that we maintain the highest level of quality for your consumers all the way from harvest to consumption.

Unfortunately, as we tested a recent in-market product, we discovered 3 product lots of our Zour Apples pre-roll have failed BTGN microbial testing. As a result of these findings, we have notified Health Canada and are proactively pursuing a product recall on the following products sold between December 1, 2020 and July 7, 2021:

  • P200027
  • P200044
  • P210008

These lots were sold through authorized retailers in Alberta, Northwest Territories, Yukon and to clients registered for medical purposes by Medical Cannabis by Shoppers Drug Mart Inc.

The affected product may contain yeast, mould and bacteria. In certain individuals, exposure to yeast, mould and bacteria can result in allergic symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, wheezing, runny nose or nasal congestion, and watery eyes or itchy eyes. The use of, or exposure to a product containing yeast, mould and bacteria may cause temporary adverse health consequences, where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

To date, Atlas Growers Ltd. and Health Canada have not received any complaints related to the recalled lots. Neither Health Canada nor Atlas Growers Ltd. have received any adverse reaction reports for the recalled lots. The recalled product was sold between December 1, 2020 and July 7, 2021.

Consumers can return the product to the retailer where the product was purchased, or dispose of the product. Opened product should be disposed of safely and out of the reach of children and young persons.
